The association was registered in Milan in 1954 and held its first world congress in 1956 , Lübeck/Bad Lippspringe, under the leadership of Professeur Dr. K Hansen. The ACI International has been choosen to become an official journal of Interasma, the International Association of Asthmology. The journal has an excellent quality and is lrgely circulated among the 20.000 allergists in the world. A good paper journal is probably the best and most pleasant way to get information on premises and read it at ease. The Internet brings a valuable plus by tieing together various piece of information, enlighting the reading thanks to links imbedded into the text. Mission statement

• Interasma is an international health organization completely focused on all aspects of asthma which bridges the gap between academia and the world of clinical practice.
• Interasma is a forum for interdisciplinary discussion where pneumologists, allergologists, pediatricians, and general practitioners have the opportunity to discuss and exchange information between these specialities on asthma research, practice and management. In this regard, the Association supports a broad range of cooperative endeavor.
• Interasma is devoted to encouraging asthma education programs all around the world for physicians, as well as for other health professionals, educators, and administrators.
• Interasma is engaged in the international crusade to improve the quality of life of asthmatics and to decrease the prevalence, morbidity and mortality of asthma.
